Semarang – Students from the Undip Master’s Program in Nursing participate in the International Immersion Program (IIP) held at the Faculty of Nursing, Prince of Songkla University in Thailand.

This event will take place from September 11th to 22nd, 2023, with the aim of facilitating the personal development of the students and providing them with international exposure in the field of nursing. The program is an integral part of the curriculum and falls under the Innovative Nursing Practice course.

A total of 34 third-semester students are involved in the 2023 IIP, guided by two faculty advisors, namely Mrs. Suhartini, S.Kp., MNS., Ph.D., and Dr. Meira Erawati, S.Kep., M.Si.Med. This program is a regular offering at Undip, designed to offer students a deeper understanding of nursing education and practice. It is rooted in the philosophy that curiosity, confidence, objectivity, honesty, and an open mind are essential elements of the learning process.

During their time in Thailand, the students will visit hospitals, communities, and other healthcare facilities, and attend lectures by experts in their field. The purpose of these experiences is to enhance their learning and achieve competence in line with predefined goals.

The farewell ceremony for the participants of the IIP 2023 program was held on Friday, September 8, 2023, and was presided over by Dr. Anggorowati, S.Kp., M.Kep.Sp.Mat., the Head of the Department of Nursing at Undip.
Undip continues to provide opportunities for its students to broaden their horizons and gain international experience, enriching their educational journey and preparing them to become globally competent nursing professionals. [AN]
