Semarang – The Master of Nursing Student Association (HIMMAKA) Undip has successfully organized the International Health Sciences in Technology Seminar and Competition 2024 (IHSTSC) on 22-23 October 2024.

The seminar and competition aimed to enhance competencies in the health sector, facilitate technological advancements, and strengthen collaboration among students and healthcare professionals. HIMMAKA Undip expressed its hope that this event could inspire efforts to address the challenges of digital transformation in healthcare.

Held at the Auditorium of the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University, the event focused on the theme ‘Transforming Health Technology in the Era of Disruption and Society 5.0.’ The program was officially opened by the Head of the Nursing Department, Dr. Anggorowati.

This international seminar featured four keynote speakers who explored critical topics, including Sri Padma Sari, S.Kep., MNS., Ph.D (Indonesia): Digital Intervention for People with Mental Illness; Dr. Intan Idiana Hassan (Malaysia): Empowering Nursing Education with Artificial Intelligence; Prof. dr. N.D. Nynke Scherpbier-de Haan (Netherlands): Interprofessional Education; and Ebenezer Akore Yeboah, BSc. Nursing (UK): The Role of Nurses as a Global Profession.

The seminar was attended by more than 350 participants and 9 competition teams from various national and international institutions. The number of seminar attendees far exceeded the initial target of 200 participants, due to effective promotional strategies of the organizing committee.

The discussions were highly interactive, reflecting the participants’ enthusiasm. The presentations were delivered seamlessly via Zoom, ensuring smooth communication without technical issues.

In addition to the seminar, IHSTSC 2024 also hosted a health innovation competition. Each team showcased their innovations before a panel of judges, including Farid Agushybana, S.KM., DEA., Ph.D (Robotic Technology), Dr. Ir. Aris Triwiyatno, ST., MT., IPU., ASEAN. Eng (Methodology), and Dr. Rita Hadi W, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Kep.Kom (Nursing Innovation).

The competition concluded with three main winners, namely The StrokeCare Innovators Team from Universiti Sains Malaysia (First Winner), The E-EWS Record Team from STIKES Panti Kosala (Second Winner), and The KMB 23 Team from Diponegoro University (Third Winner).

The IHSTSC 2024 wrapped up with the announcement of awards for Best Presenter, Best Paper, and other special recognitions. The organizing committee reported that the event proceeded successfully and as planned, due to meticulous preparation.
