Semarang – Megah Andriany, Ph.D., a lecturer at the Department of Nursing, Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), recently participated in the International Academic Networking (IAN) initiative as part of efforts to support the internationalization and global ranking enhancement of Undip as a leading educational institution.

This IAN activity was carried out through her participation as a speaker at the Global Nursing Congress organized by BioLeagues from November 22-24, 2024, in Manila, Philippines. The forum provided strategic opportunities to establish academic networks that align with Undip’s vision of becoming a world-class university by 2030.

Specifically, the Undip’s IAN aimed to present published research in an international forum, promote Undip at international conferences, and build international networks to support the university’s three pillars of higher education initiatives.

The Global Nursing Congress was attended by approximately 30 participants from various countries, including the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Saudi Arabia, and North Africa. The event featured keynote speakers from the Philippines, India, and Saudi Arabia, as well as oral and poster presentation sessions conducted both online and offline.

As a delegate from Undip, Megah Andriany, Ph.D., presented a paper titled “Overview of Self-Efficacy Among Male Prison Inmates to Stop Drug Use After Being Released from Prisons.” This research was a collaborative effort with a nursing student from Undip, Wahyu Aprilia.

During the Q&A session, the presenter received valuable feedback to publish the research findings in an international journal, enabling wider dissemination and impact, particularly in the field of correctional nursing, which remains relatively unexplored in the Philippines.

In addition to the presentations, the networking sessions during breaks were utilized effectively to establish connections with other participants. Megah Andriany introduced Universitas Diponegoro and promoted the Nurse Media Journal of Nursing (NMJN), a Scopus-indexed academic journal. The promotion aimed to attract interest from participants, reviewers, and international editorial board members to contribute to NMJN.
