The Master Program in Nursing at the Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University was established based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education (Dirjen Dikti) of the Ministry of National Education Number 717/E/T/2011 dated May 19, 2011 concerning the Assignment of the Implementation of the Master Program in Nursing (Graduate Program) at Diponegoro University. The operational permit for its implementation is the Letter of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 103/E/O/2013 dated April 12, 2013 concerning the Implementation of the Masters Program in Nursing at Diponegoro University in Semarang.
The Master Program in Nursing was established in line with the high interest of the community to increase their knowledge and skills in the field of nursing. In addition, the limited number of higher education institutions that offer master’s programs in nursing is a challenge for Undip to immediately respond to the needs of the community. Preparations were made by conducting communications, discussions and also workshops starting in 2009. The opening of the masters program was realized by the mandate given by Dikti to UNDIP to open the program.
The Master Program in Nursing is officially commenced in the 2011/2012 academic year. The concentration of the program that was first offered was Nursing Leadership and Management.
The master program in nursing at Undip aims to produce scientists, educators, managers, innovation agents and lobbyists in the area of nursing who are excellent and active in research activities that produce innovations in nursing practice, active in community service activities and in advancing the nursing profession at national and international levels.
