Semarang – The Master’s Program in Nursing at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) successfully held an international lecture featuring Professor Nynke D. Scherpbier-de Haan, MD, PhD, from the University of Groningen, Netherlands.

This virtual lecture was part of the International Lecture Series conducted on October 18, 22, 23, and 25, 2024.

Themed “Strengthening Intraprofessional and Interprofessional Collaboration to Improve Nursing Care in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”, the lecture aimed to enhance interprofessional collaboration in nursing care while supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It also underscored the importance of international partnerships in nursing to achieve optimal outcomes in global healthcare services.

Since 2021, the International Lecture Series has been a regular agenda of the Undip Master’s Program in Nursing, aligning with its vision to become a nationally and internationally recognized research-based nursing program with a holistic and spiritual approach by 2030. The initiative also contributes to the achievement of Universitas Diponegoro’s Strategic Performance Index (IKU) 6, which prioritizes collaboration with world-class partners.

The online lecture was attended by 89 participants, including faculty members and students. Professor Nynke D. Scherpbier-de Haan, an expert in primary and long-term care, shared her extensive knowledge and experience in international nursing practice. Known for her influential publications in reputable international journals, her expertise is highly relevant to the needs of the Department of Nursing at Undip’s Faculty of Medicine.

The primary goal of the lecture was to enrich students’ knowledge of the latest developments in nursing care and provide insights into healthcare practices successfully implemented in developed countries. Additionally, the event fostered opportunities for long-term research collaborations and partnerships with overseas academic institutions.

By hosting this international lecture, the Undip Master’s Program in Nursing continues to strengthen its global connections and advance high-quality, globally recognized nursing education that remains relevant to contemporary healthcare challenges. [AN]
